There are a number of private-sector services available aimed at facilitating compliance with the requirements of the QNG Sustainable Building Certification (QNG). This includes in particular product information and product labelling services for compliance with QNG Requirement 3 “Avoidance of harmful substances in building materials”.
Private sector services
While these kinds of services can certainly help with the application of the QNG requirements to any building or refurbishment project, there is no requirement for using such services in order to fulfil the requirements of QNG Certification.
With regard to such services, please note that, with the exception of the accredited certification bodies, there are no private sector services that are being delivered in collaboration with or on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Housing, Urban Development and Building (BMWSB). I.e. none of these services are provided by the BMWSB.
For this reason, the BMWSB neither checks these private-sector services’ compliance with the QNG Certification requirements nor is it able to confirm or guarantee their compliance. Checking or confirming such compliance is consequently the sole responsibility of the providers of such services.
This clarification by the BMWSB does not constitute or reflect a stance on the private sector services in question.
The decisions concerning the award of the QNG Certification are made by the accredited certification bodies. All of the award decision made by the accredited certification bodies are made independent of any of the results of these private sector services.
